We are pleased to announce the Herpetological Society of Singapore (HSS) as the newest partner of the Amphibian Survival Alliance! Based in Singapore, HSS has spent the past decade working to protect native amphibians by enhancing public awareness, supporting conservation efforts and research, and advocating for the protection of local herpetofauna.

HSS is a youth-led organization that uniquely balances scientific research and public outreach. Unlike many research-heavy groups, HSS prioritizes engaging the public through guided nature walks, school talks, and social media outreach to dispel misconceptions and highlight the ecological importance of amphibians. Additionally, they collaborate with researchers, conservationists, and policymakers to address threats such as habitat fragmentation and advocate for biodiversity protection.

Key Initiatives:

  1. Public Education & Outreach – Monthly guided walks, school talks, and social media engagement to foster appreciation for amphibians.
  2. Scientific Research & Conservation – Contributing to herpetofauna surveys and local research to improve knowledge and conservation strategies.
  3. Policy Advocacy & Collaboration – Working with environmental organizations and policymakers to integrate amphibian conservation into land-use planning.

HSS’s dedication to bridging research with education and policy makes them a valuable addition to our network. We look forward to working together to strengthen amphibian conservation efforts in Singapore and beyond. Welcome to the ASA partnership!
