We are thrilled to share the exciting launch of the On the Edge Fund, a groundbreaking new grants program designed to spotlight Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) species while fostering collaboration between conservation and storytelling. This innovative initiative seeks to amplify conservation efforts and inspire behavior change by pairing emerging conservationists with impactful storytellers.
About the On the Edge Fund
The On the Edge Fund aims to bring much-needed attention to some of the world’s most unique and vulnerable species. By connecting local conservationists with skilled storytellers, this program ensures that conservation efforts on the ground are amplified through compelling narratives that resonate with communities and audiences worldwide.
Grant Opportunities
The fund offers two types of grants:
- Conservation Grants: Opening January 1, these grants will support a minimum of six conservation projects focusing on EDGE species.
- Storytelling Grants: Launching April 1, these grants will fund six storytellers dedicated to crafting engaging narratives that promote conservation and inspire action.
A Proven Approach with Global Ambitions
The On the Edge Fund piloted this innovative approach earlier this year in South America, demonstrating the power of combining conservation and storytelling. Following the success of the pilot program, the fund will expand its reach globally in 2025. This broader rollout aims to ensure that conservationists and storytellers worldwide have the opportunity to collaborate and make a meaningful impact.
