Emergency Grants
Rapid funding for urgent, on-the-ground action when extinction is months away.
Important
This program is for true emergencies only. You must demonstrate that your species or population faces extinction within 6 months without intervention.
About this program
When a species or population faces extinction within months, research and planning are not enough. Our Emergency Grants provide rapid funding for direct conservation action. The kind that prevents extinction when every day counts. We prioritize projects with clear evidence of urgency and a plan for immediate implementation.
What we fund
- Direct costs for on-the-ground emergency response only
- Field equipment and supplies required for urgent action
- Emergency habitat protection or restoration
- Rescue operations for threatened populations
- Urgent disease outbreak response
- Emergency ex situ setup (coordination with Amphibian Ark available)
What we don't fund
- ✕Overhead or indirect costs of any kind
- ✕Administrative fees or charges
- ✕Research or studies without immediate conservation action
- ✕Projects without clear evidence of imminent extinction threat
Eligibility
- Species or population at clear risk of extinction within six months
- Threat that is acute, time-sensitive, and well documented
- Immediate, short-term, on-the-ground action (not planning, outreach, or long-term restoration)
- Ready to begin promptly and implemented within weeks to a few months
- Direct conservation action that can measurably reduce the risk of extinction
