We are thrilled to announce that the Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) will be participating in Frog Con 2023, an online convention dedicated to celebrating and conserving frogs. The event will take place from October 13-23, 2023, and aims to bring together a community of frog enthusiasts for a week of fun, learning, and impactful conservation efforts.

About Frog Con
Frog Con is not just another online event; it’s a celebration of our fascinating little friends, frogs. Now in its third year, Frog Con has a rich history of engaging the community in meaningful ways. This year, attendees can look forward to:

  • An Artist Alley featuring over 100 frog-themed artists
  • Various panels and events, including educational sessions, live frog cams, frog games, and interviews with frog artists
  • A customizable frog icon maker
  • Limited edition Frog Con 2023 merchandise, aligning with this year’s space theme
  • A raffle, with profits going directly to ASA

Our Involvement
We are particularly excited that one of our 2023 Future Leaders of Amphibian Conservation grantees, Mary Vizcaíno, will be hosting a session on the Jambato Harlequin Toad. This toad was considered extinct for almost 30 years but has been brought back through concerted conservation efforts. Mary will discuss the work done by the Jambato Alliance to conserve this species through community involvement.

Additionally, Luis Fernando Marin da Fonte, ASA’s Director of Partnerships and Communications, will be giving a short presentation on ASA during the event.

A portion of the proceeds from Frog Con will be donated to ASA once again to support our Future Leaders of Amphibian Conservation program. We are deeply grateful for Frog Con’s continued support, which has been instrumental in advancing the Future Leader’s program. Their previous donations have already made a significant impact, enabling us to offer additional financial support for conference attendance, research projects, and capacity-building initiatives.
