The Disappearing Frogs Project was invited to participate at the Amphibian Awareness Day in Ashboro North Carolina on April 26th, 2014.

Two artist volunteers Cynthia Taylor and Terry Thirion, set up tables and easels and invited children and their parents to draw their interpretation of frogs/amphibians.

The images were then posted on a board for the duration of the event.

Having this arrangement gave us a forum to engage in conversation with the participants about the amphibian decline and the threats facing them.

Why did the North Carolina Zoo has chosen to spotlight amphibians with an amphibian day at the zoo?
